Prince Harry’s tell-all book likely to see him sidelined for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bash
PRINCE Harry’s tell-all book is likely to see him sidelined for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bash.
The Duke’s memoir — due out shortly after the party — is threatening to widen the family rift and put the royal celebration in turmoil.
Royal sources say it will make it “impossible” for him and Meghan to attend.
The Duke, 36, surprised dad Charles, 72, and his brother William, 39, by revealing he was writing a book about his life.
Royal insiders fear it will go further than his Oprah interview, in which Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, branded an unnamed family member as a “racist”.
Palace sources said: “Everyone now thinks it is inconceivable that he and Meghan can be part of the Platinum Jubilee.
“Bringing it out in 2022 when the Queen is celebrating will dampen the party.”
Harry’s spokesman said he does not have to seek Buckingham Palace permission for every project.
His memoirs are being ghostwritten by J.R. Moehringer who has also written memoirs for Andre Agassi and Nike co-founder Phil Knight.
The memoir will detail Prince Harry's life as a member of the Royal Family, his relationship with wife Meghan Markle, Megxit and raising his children.
Royal author Penny Junor said: "The family must be despairing, this is a man who they all love and he seems to be doing his best to embarrass and damage his family.
"I think it's a bit early to be writing a proper memoir.
"I imagine it is self justification and it's exploring himself, and finding himself, but it's going to be, I suspect, at other people's expense."
Timed for release in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year, Harry's relationship with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and ex-girlfriends are likely to form part of the book.
And it could also reveal the name of the royal who made the comment to Meghan about Archie's skin.
It comes as:
- Harry blindsided the Royal Family by secretly writing the tell-all memoir
- Harry told his family "moments" before the book was announced
- Piers Morgan blasted the memoir, saying Harry 'hasn't stopped yapping'
- Harry vowed to be "wholly truthful" in the upcoming memoir
- The duke has sparked a "tsunami of fear" in the Royal Family
The reported that news of Prince Harry’s memoirs - reportedly worth $20million (£15m) - were met with "big sighs" from other royals.
And The suggested the Palace would be "afraid" of revelations printed in the book and suggested they would not sign off on the memoir.
It reported: "The Royal family is unlikely to be given advance sight of the memoir, although the publisher will be required to show them any extracts that could be considered defamatory.
"Were the book to be published solely in the US, the Royals would have little chance of legal retaliation as their freedom of speech laws are so strong.
"Experts said that as it was also being published in the UK, the Duke’s team would be foolish not to run anything of legal concern past Buckingham Palace, but it is unlikely they will be inclined to edit the tome to suit them.

"Similarly, Buckingham Palace might feel that a complaint about any one observation might suggest it was giving tacit approval to everything else."
And an insider claimed the Harry seems "bizarrely hellbent" on trashing his dad Prince Charles - who feels his son's constant attacks are 'unjust'.

Time to move on
WHEN they left for the US, Harry and Meghan told the Queen they would not use the monarchy to make money.
That has gone down the drain and they won’t be stopped.
Harry doesn’t care how hypocritical he has become. Why is he writing a book?
He wants revenge. He is fed up being the spare to the heir. Wills always had it better.
But Harry has the freedom he wanted. He has a wife and kids.
He must move on.
