BROTHERS AT WAR

‘No going back’ for Prince William and Harry as Wills views his brother as a ‘defector’, Omid Scobie claims in Endgame

'I was talking to a source quite early on in the process, and they called Harry a ‘defector’ and said that was William’s view'

PRINCE William and Harry's relationship is "beyond repair" as Wills views his brother as a "defector", Omid Scobie has claimed.

The author says there's "no going back" for the brothers and "absolutely nothing has changed" in their relationship since the release of Harry's memoir Spare earlier this year.

In it, he writes: "I was talking to a source quite early on in the process, and they called Harry a ‘defector’ and said that was William’s view.

"These were two men who once upon a time were firmly aligned in their outlook. One of them had to move on to also protect the crown."

Scobie also claims Harry's "freedom to to exert his own thinking outside of the confines of the institution has made him the enemy".

He claims this is the reason why "there's no going back" for the two princes.

The book details how William believes his brother has been "brainwashed by an army of therapists"; and no longer recognises him.

It adds: "As for how he feels about Harry since the release of Spare, a source close to the prince told me.

"There’s a huge amount of anger there. He feels betrayed and sad about the situation.

"But he also doesn’t agree with the things his brother feels he has done."

The book has been described as "explosive", with Scobie also describing King Charles as "unpopular".

He also alleged Prince William is "power hungry" and wrote Queen Camilla is "willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image".

And a publishing source told the  the 416-page book will contain "bombshell after bombshell".

Scobie claims to have interviewed "current and former Palace staff" for the book, due out November 21.

The claims comes after Prince Harry rang his father yesterday to wish him a happy 75th birthday — their first conversation in more than six months.

The monarch is also said to have spoken with Meghan during the transatlantic call on a packed day of engagements.

A source said: “The King was extremely busy but is polite and loves his son and his grandchildren, and not so mean that he would not take a call on his birthday.”

The Sun understands that during yesterday’s conversation, Harry, Meghan and Charles made plans for them to speak again soon.
