PRINCE Harry and King Charles will speak again in days after the duke gave his dad an olive branch birthday phone call yesterday.
It was the first time the father and son had spoken since April - and sources claim they will now continue to "mend the family rife".
It’s believed Charles also spoke to daughter-in-law Meghan during yesterday's transatlantic call.
The Sun understands that the chats were “very good and fruitful”, and Harry, Meghan and Charles made plans to “speak again next week”.
A source said: “The King was extremely busy but is polite and loves his son and his grandchildren, and not so mean that he would not take a call on his birthday.”
They added: “There is still a long way to go to mend the rift created over many years — and the deeper issues caused by allegations in the Netflix series and Spare are not healed with a phone call.”
MORE ON HARRY
While Harry, 39, hasn’t seen his dad since Charles’s Coronation in May, despite being in the UK in September, the monarch is said to be keeping the door open for his “dear boy”.
Queen Camilla and Prince William are said to be more wary and have advised Charles to not engage with Harry after he blasted the Royal Family and the UK on Netflix and in Spare.
Harry and Charles reportedly have not spoken face to face since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September last year and it is known the king has previously been reluctant to take Harry’s calls following rows over Megxit and his money.
Harry’s camp actively made it known he was going to call his father ahead of the call.

It comes as segments of a new bombshell book by the Sussexes' biographer Omid Scobie were released today.
In it, the author says there's "no going back" for Harry and his brother William and "absolutely nothing has changed" in their relationship since the release of Harry's memoir Spare earlier this year.
It also alleged that Meghan kept away from the Queen and Harry was ignored by William on the day she died.
HARRY 'COMPLETELY BY HIMSELF'
It claims the duke was "completely by himself" in the hours before his grandmother's death.
Harry was also allegedly kept in the dark about his grandmother's health until he "received a call from an unknown number" - which turned out to be from his father.
And it's claimed Charles told Harry to travel to Scotland without Meghan, to which he agreed after it was confirmed Kate would also not be in attendance.
Scobie, a friend of the Sussexes, has made the claims in his new book "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival".
He writes: "Charles had cited 'protocol', but the reality was that Kate chose to stay back to pick up the children from their first day at a new school.
"'They just didn’t want Meghan there,' said a former Palace aide. Meghan, a friend added, 'could sense she wasn’t wanted.'"
Last night, the King was surrounded by close friends and family at Clarence House for dinner.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were spotted leaving close to midnight after celebrating the monarch hitting 75.
