Harry ‘WILL watch The Crown but only after friends make sure no scenes can traumatise him’…and Wills won’t at all
And Prince William isn't the only royal who's refused to watch the controversial Netflix show
PRINCE Harry will watch The Crown after his pals scour it to make sure nothing can traumatise him, a source claims.
Netflix‘s show is set to cause fresh chaos today as the sixth and final season of the series hits screens.
The series notably features the event that shook the British monarchy to its core — the death of Princess Diana on August 31, 1997.
The new season will controversially reenact the last few months of Princess Di’s troubled life.
Now a source has claimed Harry, 39, will watch the show – after he admitted to watching episodes in the past.
However, a pal of the prince told the they would watch it first to make sure there was nothing that would deeply upset him.
The Sun has approached Harry’s representatives for comment.
At the same time, sources have claimed Prince William will not watch the show – and he never has.
Netflix had previously come under fire for its reenactments of Diana’s life – including the famous Panorama interview, which Wills said should never be shown again.
Producers took the most inflammatory parts of Princess Di’s hour-long 1995 interview and condensed them into a segment lasting four minutes, 23 seconds.
They include Diana referencing the “crowded marriage” she endured while Charles was having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.
She was also seen saying she wants to be “a queen in people’s hearts” but does not think she will ever be Queen herself.
An investigation later found interviewer Martin Bashir used forgery and deception to gain access to the Princess.
Meanwhile, Wills isn’t the only royal who was said to have refused to watch the show – Prince Phillip reportedly never watched it either.
Actor Matt Smith claimed the late Queen used to watch it though.
He told the : “She used to watch it on a projector on a Sunday night, apparently.
“I know that Philip definitely didn’t [watched the show].
“A friend of mine sat next to him at a dinner once, and he asked him.
“My friend couldn’t resist. By the end of the meal, he was like, ‘Philip, I have to ask. Have you watched The Crown?’”
“And [he] apparently turned ’round to him and went, ‘Don’t be ridiculous’.”
It comes as it was this morning reported royal insiders were furious over claims William ignored his brother’s messages as the Queen died.
Omid Scobie made the bombshell new claims in his latest book Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival.
In the book it was also claimed the brothers’ relationship is “beyond repair” as Wills views his brother as a “defector”.
The author says there’s “no going back” for the brothers and “absolutely nothing has changed” in their relationship since the release of Harry’s memoir Spare earlier this year.
