Charles seen driving ahead of his prostate op as Camilla reveals King is ‘doing fine’

The Monarch was spotted just hours after another royal opened up about her recent health scare

KING Charles has today been spotted driving ahead of his prostate surgery - just hours after Queen Camilla put on a brave face for the public.

The Monarch, 75, is set to be admitted to hospital this week to have surgery for an "enlarged prostate".

Buckingham Palace revealed on Wednesday that Charles had been forced to cancel engagements for the "corrective procedure".

The King was seen driving his electric Audi 4x4 this afternoon near Sandringham.

He braved the cold in thick green woollen gloves as he drove back into his Norfolk estate.

He was today seen just hours after the Queen faced the public, appearing to be in good spirits despite the family's "very very difficult" time.

She was out to mark the 50th anniversary of the Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service (SDASS) at the charity refuge.

Camilla then visited Deacon & Son, a 175-year-old family-run jewellery, where well-wishers met her outside.

One, Jessie Jackson, 86, said she spoke to the Queen, who told her the King "is fine".

The Monarch was spotted for the first time on Friday, leaving his private home Birkhall, in Aberdeenshire.

Charles' scare was revealed the same day Kensington Palace announced Princess Kate had undergone an abdominal surgery.

Then, in another heath fright for the royals, it was yesterday revealed Sarah Ferguson was battling an aggressive skin cancer.

Kate, 42, is said to have plans to work from bed once she returns home from her surgery.

The Princess of Wales underwent the planned operation on Tuesday and is staying in the private London Clinic.

She is "doing well" after the planned surgery, but is likely to remain in hospital for 10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery.

Sources claimed at the weekend that Kate's commitment to her royal duties will see her get back into work as soon as she can.

Kensington Palace announced on Wednesday Kate had undergone the surgery, but were quick to say it was not related in any way to cancer.

The Sun yesterday revealed Fergie, the Duchess of York, was battling cancer for the second time in just six months.

The 64-year-old had been diagnosed with malignant melanoma after a mole was removed as she underwent treatment for breast cancer.

Sarah, who was married to and has two children with Prince Andrew, today opened up about her shock diagnosis.

She wrote on social media: "I have been taking some time to myself as I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, my second cancer diagnosis within a year after I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

"It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was.

"Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support."

Sarah encouraged everyone to check the size, shape, colour and texture and emergence of new moles to catch any potential skin cancer early.
