KATE Middleton’s inner circle is set to gain a new member as the royal has hired a new private secretary.
The Princess of Wales has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Tom White to the role, as she continues to rest after her abdominal surgery in January.
Tom previously worked as Queen Elizabeth II’s former equerry and is filling a vacant role, as Kate hasn’t had a private secretary for over a year.
Towards the end of 2023, he joined the Princess of Wales at a public event to show him what the role could entail.
Before working for the Queen up until her death in September 2022, Tom was a Royal Marines officer who served in Afghanistan in 2009.
Photos of Kate's new private secretary have circulated online, with royal fans gushing that he bears a striking resemblance to tennis legend Roger Federer.
Roger and Kate have worked together a number of times, including creating a Wimbledon film last year that shone a light on the tournament’s ball boys and girls.
Meanwhile, Kate is said to have revealed that son Prince George has had lessons with the tennis champ.
One royal fan wrote of Tom: “I thought it was Roger Federer.”
Another added: “He’s very handsome.”

The Princess of Wales, 42, is "recovering well" at home after her planned abdominal surgery on January 16.
Kate spent 13 days recovering at the private London Clinic before heading home - and she is unlikely to be seen carrying out any frontline duties until after Easter.
In a clear sign of her improvement, the Princess joined William and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on a half-term trip holiday on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
The King is also recovering in Norfolk following his cancer diagnosis.
The monarch was admitted to The London Clinic on January 26 to undergo the operation and his stay was extended by 24 hours.
What does a royal private secretary do?
A royal family member's private secretary is similar to their chief of staff.
It's their role to ensure the royal's day runs smoothly, and duties can include anything from coordinating royal engagements to briefing on meetings.
You can often see private secretaries when royals do a public walkaway, as they are usually standing a few feet away - often to carry photos or gifts given by well-wishes.
As the news broke, Prince Harry jetted 5,000 miles to be by his father’s side, and saw him for a 30-minute meeting, before flying home.
A "separate issue of concern was noted" during his corrective prostate surgery - and further tests revealed the presence of cancer.
In their statement a Palace spokesman stated: "Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer."
In the meantime, Prince William and Queen Camilla have taken the lead and stepped up to help with royal duties.
