Andrew broke out into laughter behind the wheel

The prince could not see the dog - but his bodyguard noticed its owner waving and told Andrew to hit the brakes.

Thankfully, the Range Rover came to a halt without hitting the pooch.

A source said Andrew took the kerfuffle in good humour and laughed as the dog's mortified owner sprinted to retrieve it.

The witness said: "The Long Walk was crowded with people enjoying the warm weather.

"Andrew's bodyguard saw the people frantically waving in the nick of time.

"Everyone was laughing when they saw who was driving the Range Rover."

Earlier today Andrew looked utterly miserable as he went for a ride near his home on the Crown estate in Windsor.

The father-of-two faces fresh embarrassment following the release of new Netflix film Scoop.

Starring Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson, the film tracks Andrew's disastrous Newsnight interview with the BBC's Emily Maitlis.

Back in November 2019, Andrew sat down with Maitlis to discuss his relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew's Savile admission in Netflix drama Scoop sums him up to a tee. He's never coming back

The film is based on Sam McAllister's memoir, Scoops: Behind The Scenes of the BBC's Most Shocking Interviews.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun's Royal Exclusive show that the film's release spells more bad news for Andrew.

Seward said: "I think that Prince Andrew's royal life is over because it's so tainted.

"It sticks - unless he can find a way of proving his innocence.

"Even if he did prove his innocence, I'm not sure that people would believe it.

"It's a really, really unpleasant sticker he's got on him. I think it would be very difficult.

SCOOP IT UP

Gillian Anderson and Billie Piper lead the cast in Scoop, tracking Prince Andrew's interview with Newsnight about Jeffrey Epstein.

Back in November 2019, the Royal sat down with journalist Emily Maitlis to discuss his relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Scoop details the behind-the-scenes account of the "news interview of the decade", with an all-star cast as the key players.

While Gillian plays journalist Emily, and Billie will portray Sam McAllister, who negotiated and secured the bombshell interview, Prince Andrew is brought to the screen by Rufus Sewell.

Rufus, 56, is best known for his roles in films like The Holiday and A Knight's Tale as well as TV shows including The Diplomat and The Man in the High Castle.

But to portray Prince Andrew, Rufus has ditched his head of dark salt and pepper curls and replaced it with a short, grey cut to resemble the disgraced Royal.

The Scoop cast also sees Keeley Hawes play Amanda Thirsk, the former Private Secretary to Prince Andrew.

The film is based on Sam McAllister's memoir, Scoops: Behind The Scenes of the BBC's Most Shocking Interviews.

"I think he should just remove himself and go and live in Canada.

"He's far too near it all. It must be so miserable being a prisoner, albeit in the most beautiful house.

"Why doesn't he just say 'I'm going to go and live in Canada in a cabin in the woods?'"

Scoop's cast also includes Keeley Hawes as Andrew's former private secretary Amanda Thirsk and Billie Piper as BBC fixer Sam McAllister.

Andrew's Infamous Newsnight Interview

PRINCE Andrew's painful Newsnight interview in November 2019 saw him grilled over his links with dead paedo Jeffrey Epstein, his pal Ghislaine Maxwell and allegations he had sex with a 17-year-old.

During the interview, Andrew said he had "no recollection" of meeting Virginia Giuffre - who he is alleged to have had sex with at Maxwell's house in London.

He even provided an "alibi" claiming that the night the alleged encounter took place he was at a Pizza Express birthday party in Woking with his daughter Princess Beatrice.

Epstein committed suicide in a jail cell in August 2019, just a month after he was arrested for sex trafficking minors.

A flood of horrific accounts of his abuse of young girls then followed.

In 2022, socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was jailed for 20 years for abusing and grooming dozens of girls for twisted Epstein.

The convicted sex trafficker and Andrew would allegedly flirt with each other when they hung out together on Epstein's notorious Caribbean island Little St James, the former housekeeper has claimed.

After Maxwell's sentence, the Duke of York was said to be the lawyers' "next target" of a probe into the sex ring controlled by multimillionaire paedophile Epstein.

The Duke agreed to a £12million settlement with sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre in February 2022.

Snaps showed him grinning as he rode along the paths, waving to people on the grounds.

Meanwhile, the smirking prince led the royals into a service in late February.

The Duke of York was among a number of royals who attended St.George's Chapel in Windsor Castle for the Thanksgiving service held in honour of Greece’s late King Constantine.

Andrew was seen beaming as he led the way in a rare public appearance as mourners arrived for the service.

Queen Camilla arrived separately meaning that the Duke of York stepped forward to usher in more minor royals including Princess Anne, her daughter Zara and husband Mike Tindall

His ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was by his side as they marched into St George's Chapel this morning.

Andrew's Bizarre Newsnight Claims

by Katie Davis

PRINCE Andrew infamously claimed he couldn't sweat and rarely "partied" in his car-crash Newsnight interview - now immortalised by Netflix.

But photos appear to paint a very different picture of the Duke of York's younger days when he was branded The Playboy Prince.

The nation cringed as they watched Andrew offer bizarre defences to questions put to him by then BBC Newsnight host Emily Maitlis in 2019.

Asked about Virginia Giuffre's claims he was "sweating profusely" when they are said to have danced together at Tramp nightclub in London, the royal said he had a "peculiar medical condition".

That condition, he claimed, meant he "didn't sweat at the time".

His accuser Giuffre claims she danced with the Duke before going back to Ghislaine Maxwell's house on the night of March 10, 2001.

It was there that the notorious photo of the late Queen's favourite son with his arm around the 17-year-old Virginia was taken, as Ghislaine watched on.

Giuffre claims Jeffrey Epstein paid her around £8,000 after she had sex with Andrew.

He also famously claimed he could not have been at Tramps that night as he was at Pizza Express in Woking, Surrey.

In another cringe-worthy moment in the Newsnight interview - dramatised in the new Netflix film Scoop - Andrew claimed he rarely "partied" and wasn't a fan of public displays of affection.

But he was often snapped with his arms around glamorous women back in the day - including Heidi Klum and Chris Von Aspen.

It was the first time the disgraced Duke of York has attended a public event since the Christmas Day service at Sandringham.

Back in 2022, Buckingham Palace announced that Andrew was stripped of his military titles and his royal patronages were returned to the late Queen.

Andrew was previously accused of having sex with underage Virginia Giuffre on Epstein's "Paedo Island" as well as allegedly knowing about his pal's sex crimes.

But the royal denied all wrongdoing.

The case was settled without any of the allegations being tested in court as Andrew settled the lawsuit in February 2022.

It's been more than four years since Prince Andrew stepped down from royal duties.

But the unsealing of court papers in the US which allege that Andrew took part in an underage orgy and appeared in sex tapes — which he denies - saw controversy swirl once again.

Following the release of the documents, Charles is said to have wanted to keep a distance from the disgraced Duke - who said he “regrets” his friendship with Epstein.
