THE Princess of Wales' action-packed photo of Prince William and their children offers a "reassuring message" as far as her illness is concerned, a body language expert has claimed.

Kate Middleton, 42, shared a fun shot of Prince William during a beach outing to mark his 42nd birthday today.

In the photo, the royal can be seen holding hands with his three children, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince George as they leap from a sand dune, while Kate is behind the camera.

And according to body language expert Judi James, the photo, which was uploaded on The Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram account, could hardly be a more "heart-warming message" given Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

Speaking to Fabulous about the snap, which appears to be taken from a beach in Norfolk, where the family have their country home, she says: "It would be near-impossible to create an image that sends out such emphatic signals of joy, exhilaration, unity and freedom."

Judi goes on to note how the photo also shows a body language signal known as 'pinged laughter.'

"They're laughing at Kate and she's laughing at them - that's the image we have of of, even though we can't see her," she explains.

"It would be inconceivable that she would not also be sharing the fun and the laughter and that in turn sends out a reassuring message to all her many fans."

It comes just days after the mum-of-three posted a heart-warming photo of William with the kids at a similar setting on Father's Day.

Drawing a comparison between the two photos, Judi explains: "After the more pensive back-view pose for Father’s Day, Kate has turned the image around 180 degrees to show her husband and three children leaping in the air together in a choreographed explosion of energy and happiness."

The body language expert goes on to say that all three children are happily throwing their total effort into the jumping pose.

However, she says it's their dad Prince William who appears to be the biggest ‘kid’ of all.

Noting that his body language signals suggest he is enjoying this leap the most, she continues: "We can see his leg muscles tensed to get the most height.

"And in a very telling and loving move, he's the one looking straight at the camera to look at his wife and to make her laugh, showing her his undivided attention.

"Both his and George's eye contact are directly for her."her."

As for the chosen pose, Judi says that jumping signifies a "burst of extreme pleasure that you just can't contain happiness."

She explains: "As a signal, jumping is quite rare.

"We do it very rarely in our lives spontaneously. But we do do it when something really brilliant happens."

The body language expert continues: "That's why you see footballers leaping in the air when they score goals.

"It's like when we get good news, our muscles explode and it literally takes us upwards."

Judi also suggests the photo shows a "different dynamic" between the three children, which she says was also evident at Trooping the Colour.

"Prince George has very much taken over William's role with Louis," she says.

"Prince George and William were holding hands for quite a long time and they've only just uncoupled in public - and that's because William was very much training his son as a role model.

"But it's so interesting and touching to see that George is actually beginning to do the same protective gestures to Louis."

The body language expert points out that we'll often see Prince George out in public, giving Louis little pats and nudges on the back, which is the kind of reassurance that William would've given to him.

"So it's almost a role delegation," she adds.

As for Princess Charlotte, Judi says: "What we're getting with Charlotte is almost like a mini me of the late Queen insofar as in public, she's keeping an eye on both of her brothers.

"It doesn't matter that George is older, he'll get a sturdy nudge when he does something wrong."

Judi concludes: "But it's just so wonderful that despite those diverse roles when it comes to it, and when they're having fun, they just join in one line like those little paper dolls that used to cut out as children."
