PRINCE William feels protective of Princess Kate against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a former royal butler has claimed.
Paul Burrell, who worked for the Royal Family for 21 years, claims William would “explode” if the Sussexes say anything else against his wife.
The relationship between the two couples has been strained in recent years, following Meghan and Harry making a string of bombshell claims about the royal family.
Speaking to Paul said the Prince of Wales would “explode” if anything else were to be said about Kate, who has been receiving cancer treatment.
The royal butler added: “William won’t take any more cheap shots from across the Atlantic.
“He doesn’t care anymore.
“He doesn’t listen to the noise in the background – and that’s what Harry and Meghan have become.”
The Duke of Sussex visited the UK in May for a three-day trip but declined to meet up with either King Charles or his older brother.
A spokesperson for Prince Harry stated he had wanted to see King Charles but wasn’t able to due to the monarch’s “full programme” – but made no mention of seeing his brother.
This follows Harry slamming the royal family in his bombshell Spare memoir where he claimed William ‘attacked’ him in a row over Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also spilled details about the royal family in their Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary.
In the Netflix series, Harry said: “I think for so many people in the family, especially the men, there could be a temptation or an urge to marry someone who would fit the mould as opposed to someone you are destined to be with.
“The difference between making a decision with your head or your heart.”
Viewers said his comments could have been perceived as a jibe at his brother’s wife Princess Kate – and reportedly left Wills fuming.
To the shock of many it also told stories of Meghan’s “jarring” first meeting with Princess Kate and Harry making digs at his father.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now live in California with Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020.
The explosive revelations in Harry's book Spare include:
- Prince Harry claimed his brother William ‘attacked’ him in a row over Meghan Markle
- Harry called his therapist instead of Meg after the confrontation with his brother
- Charles pleaded with Harry and William not to ‘make his final years a misery’
- The Duke of Sussex revealed the nicknames he uses with William
- Harry claimed William and Kate Middleton encouraged him to wear the infamous Nazi uniform
- The duke said he does want to go to King Charles’ coronation, a trailer for his ITV interview has revealed
- The bombshell book accidentally went on sale early in Spain – and we got our hands on one of the first copies
- Meanwhile, seven times Harry was welcomed by the Royals have been revealed
Royal author Phil Dampier told Fabulous: “It’s tragic that their children George, Charlotte and Louis don’t know their cousins and Kate will be deeply saddened at how things have turned out.
“She and William now have a huge burden going forward as the future of the monarchy and they needed Harry and Meghan to support them.
“So the sense of betrayal will run deep.”
