PRINCESS Kate is known for being one of the most stylish women in Britain and the items she wears regularly sell out.

But the royal has often taken a leaf out of mum Carole Middleton’s book when it comes to her jaw-dropping looks and has even borrowed items from her wardrobe.

It turns out Kate often steals Carole’s go-to autumn style hack when she steps out in public.

Carole’s signature look

One of Kate’s mum’s favoured looks is wearing skinny jeans, ankle boots and a jumper, which is perfect for chillier months after summer.

The ’s mother certainly makes this classic combination as stylish as possible. 

She opted for the look as she posed for her former business, Party Pieces in 2021 - and she’s showed off this tried-and-tested look on a number of other occasions too.

Closely following in her mum’s footsteps is Kate, who has shown how the style combination can work for numerous royal engagements too.

And it’s not only with outfit styles that Kate has copied her mum, and she’s also borrowed Carole’s exact items from her wardrobe.

Princess Kate shone on the red carpet for the James Bond premiere of Spectre in 2015, with her blue topaz and diamond drop earrings being a focal feature.

The £14,300 jewellery set by Robinson Pelham was borrowed from Carole and perfectly complimented her bespoke grey-blue Jenny Packham gown, according to a style expert.

Susie Nelson, founder of told : "Kate and Carole's shared mother-daughter fashion taste goes down to the smallest details.

"They both like jewellery by Cassandra Goad and Kiki McDonough. Princess Kate is thought to have borrowed her mother's earrings for a James Bond premiere - which Carole had worn to her daughter's wedding reception years earlier."

Kate and Carole have been seen wearing the same clothing item on a number of occasions, and Susie said it should be of no surprise.

She explained: "Kate and Carole are both easy to dress as they are tall and slim. They have similar colouring, so the same colours will suit them both.”

One time this has been seen was with Kate’s Alexander McQueen blue coat, which she wore in 2018.

Carole opted for the same garment for Harry and Meghan's wedding that same year.

Another time we’ve seen the chic mum-and-daughter duo in the same item was with a gorgeous pink ME EM dress.

Kate stepped out in the stylish number in 2021 as she did a royal tour of Scotland with Prince William after promising five-year-old cancer patient Mila Sneddon that she would wear something pink.

Carole stepped out in the two-tone midi shirt dress at Ascot in 2022 and accessorised with a black clutch bag and a black hat.
