The King and Queen will embark on two royal tours in 2025, including a visit to Italy

QUEEN Camilla is known for her hardworking attitude, but fans have been worried about the monarch after there were reports that she was unwell.

However, Her Majesty the Queen returned to work in November 2024 and her condition was finally diagnosed just a month later.

How is Queen Camilla?

According to the latest updates from Buckingham Palace, Queen Camilla is recovering from pneumonia which was previously thought to be a simple chest infection.

Although she had to miss events including Remembrance Sunday, she has since entertained guests including the Qatari Emir.

Camilla has shaken her cough but is still recovering from the tiredness that comes with pneumonia.

October 30

Camilla returned to the UK following her tour of Australia and Samoa alongside King Charles.

Shortly after their return, the Queen began experiencing symptoms of a chest infection.

November 5

Buckingham Palace issued an initial statement revealing that Queen Camilla was unwell with a chest infection.

A palace spokesman said: "Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest.

"With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend's Remembrance events as normal.

Her doctors advised a short period of rest, leading to her withdrawal from engagements for the following week.

November 7

The Queen missed the annual Field of Remembrance event at Westminster Abbey.

The Duchess of Gloucester agreed to represent Camilla at the Field of Remembrance.

November 9

Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Camilla would not participate in the weekend's Remembrance events, including the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night and the Sunday service at the Cenotaph.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "Following doctors’ guidance to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend’s Remembrance events.

"While this is a source of great disappointment to The Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week."

Adhering to medical advice, Camilla was unable to attend The Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday evening.

November 10

The Queen Consort missed the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph, following the advice of her doctors.

Standing outside in cold weather could have had a negative effect on Her Majesty’s recovery.

November 12

Queen Camilla hosted a Booker Prize afternoon reception with shortlisted authors at Clarence House.

However, she was in attendance for a shorter period than planned.

Her Majesty told guests: "I’m on the mend, these things always take a bit of time to get rid of.

"But hopefully I’m on the mend now."

November 13

Camilla will not join the King for the London premier of Gladiator II on Wednesday evening.

November 14

The Queen had hoped to join the King on his 76th birthday bash to open a Coronation Food Project.

But due to her health concerns, she has had to pull out.

December 3

On December 3, it was confirmed that the Queen's chest infection had actually been pneumonia.

It was also revealed that her illness had been viral, not bacterial, and that she was recovering well.

On December 2, it was announced that Camilla would miss the outdoor ceremonial welcome of the Qatari Emir and his wife.

Instead, the Queen met guests inside the palace.

A royal source went into more detail about Camilla's condition.

They said: "Some days the Queen is on really good form. It's just one of those things.

"She has lost the coughing but the lingering side of it is bouts of extreme tiredness.

"There has to be a degree of flex in the Queen's diary at the moment."

Prior to her illness, Camilla recorded a TV documentary raising awareness about domestic violence.

Despite her illness, there is optimism about Camilla's recovery.
