Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘donate toys & kids’ clothing to LA victims’ as mansions burned to ground in wildfires

The pair have also offered up their home in California to friends and loved ones displaced by the fires

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have "donated toys & kids' clothing to LA victims" as mansions burned to the ground in wildfires in the region.

In a statement released on Thursday, the couple appealed to those who have been unaffected by the fires to assist any victims of the devastation.

Wildfires have ravaged the Californian megacity and surrounding regions since 7 January.

The Duke and Duchess have contributed a range of kid's items, clothing, and other essential supplies to those affected by the fires, according to .

Working with staff from their Archewell Foundation, the couple are aiming to identify the most effective ways to support the community.

Donations to those affected have also been made through the foundation.

Their statement posted to read: “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do.

"And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbours to see if they need help evacuating."

"Some families and people have been left with nothing.

"Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys and clothing, and other essentials."

The couple has also offered up their home in the Santa Barbara area to friends and loved ones displaced by the fires.

Located around 90 miles north of Los Angeles, the home is in a non-evacuated area, although their power could be shut off as blazes continue to ravage Southern California.
