PRINCE Harry and King Charles have reportedly not spoken to each other in months, with the monarch not taking his calls, according to a royal expert.
This is despite the Duke of Sussex, 40, flying to the UK last week to attempt to win back his taxpayer-funded security.
The Duke of Sussex has been embroiled in a bitter High Court battle after the Home Office refused to fund his bodyguards after he left the Royal Family.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Royal Correspondent Sarah Hewson said: “There is absolutely no way that the King could be seen to be intervening in this at all.
“Even any innocuous comment that could have been interpreted in a way and find its way into evidence in the court by Prince Harry's barrister.”
She added: “The King can't have conversations with him. And we're learning that the distance between them is perhaps greater than ever.”
The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson replied: “They've not spoken for months and months and months.”
According to Sarah, the royal father and son duo haven’t seen each other since February last year - following King Charles announcing he had cancer.
She claimed: “And that was that one brief 30 minute meeting after the King's diagnosis.
“And we're learning through sources close to Harry who've been speaking to People magazine, which is often their preferred outlet if they want to get a message out there, that Harry only found out about his father's recent visit to hospital through the media, and that he doesn't know what his father's prognosis is.”
GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker claimed there is a "fundamental reason” why communication has broken down.
On this week’s episode, he shared: “The King sees it really as his duty as head of state that he should not get involved with the judicial system.
“And I think he may well have been advised that he probably shouldn't take his son's calls in case this court case is brought up, in case he's forced to say something to Prince Harry.”
The royal expert added that Charles may also be worried that “private conversations Harry has with his family members can end up being leaked to the press or published in a book.”
Cameron continued: “I think that is what's making the royal family and those close to them paranoid about talking to Prince Harry, particularly on [what] could be a fundamental constitutional issue such as this.”
It was recently reported that Harry found the decision of his security being scrapped "difficult to swallow" and felt that it was a scheme crafted to force him and Meghan back into the Royal Family again.
After a two-day hearing last week sat partly in private to hear confidential evidence, the 40-year-old duke was said to be unhappy with what he heard.
As he left the Royal Courts of Justice, Harry told "people would be shocked by what's being held back".
The appeal decision will be handed down by the three-judge panel after Easter, which according to Royal biographer Cameron Walker, will be the Prince's "last chance saloon".
The King's private secretary, Sir Clive Alderton, is on the Royal and VIP Committee (RAVEC) which makes the decision with the Home Office on whether or not to downgrade the Prince's security.
When RAVEC's original decision was shared that Met Police protection would be scrapped, the Duke said it had been imposed upon him “as some form of punishment for protecting my family and putting them first”.

“People would be shocked by what’s being held back,” he said, adding that his “worst fears have been confirmed by the whole legal disclosure in this case and that’s really sad”.
The dad-of-two said he is being "driven by exposing injustice" and that he is determined to “get under the bonnet and fix it”.
He also hinted he would never be able to forgive what he viewed as a deliberate move to scrap the protection for his family.
Princes William and Harry have not been in direct communication since the release of Harry's controversial memoir, Spare, in January 2023.
Their last reported interaction was during the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, but conversations were said to be brief.
The feuding brothers reportedly did not speak to each other despite standing "virtually back to back" among mourners at their uncle's memorial service last August.
The Duke of Sussex and his brother did not exchange a word at the memorial in Snettisham, Norfolk - and Harry stayed at Althorp during the UK stay.
The brothers have been at loggerheads since Harry and wife Meghan quit royal duty in 2020 for a new life in the US, where they have launched a succession of barbs at the Royal Family.

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.
Once she'd returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.
He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.
The younger prince reportedly didn't take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he "went mental".
Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.
The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.
Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.
The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.
The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure - but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.
Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.
The move further increased rumours of a fallout.
Harry also hinted in his ITV documentary "Harry and Meghan, An African Journey" that he and his brother had grown apart.
In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.
Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.
In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a "peacemaker" between the brothers.
Harry claimed his brother "knocked him to the floor" during an argument about Meghan, in his memoir.
In Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan "rude" and "difficult" during a row.
Harry alleged William "grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor".
He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.
In January this year, Harry flew in to be with Charles after the monarch's shock cancer diagnosis.
Harry flew back to the US the following day - without seeing Wills.
In May he visited the UK for a three-day visit without seeing King Charles or Prince William.
