I tried Charlotte Tilbury’s Unreal Skin Foundation Stick, I don’t wear foundation but now I won’t use anything else
CHARLOTTE Tilbury has launched her brand new Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tony Hydrating Foundation Stick, a sheer glow foundation stick that has been designed to convert non-foundation wearers.
Counting myself as one of them I was eager to try, and I was pretty excited by the results.
Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tony Hydrating Foundation Stick, £35, Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte describes it as giving your skin 'an unreal effect', and she's not wrong.
Available now from Charlotte Tilbury and priced at £35, the new comes in 17 shades and is designed for those who want a no-makeup look.
Charlotte Tilbury hopes to convert those who don't wear foundation and the new go-to for those who do.
MORE ABOUT CHARLOTTE TILBURY
And after just a couple of wears, I'm fully on board.
The new does what it says on the tin, my skin looks unreal.
Ok, maybe that's a little exaggeration, but it looks pretty good.
It gives my skin an 'own skin but better' finish, something Charlotte has referred to herself as the aim of the new

The light formula is super blendable and easy to use, you literally draw it on like a crayon and blend and you're left with a glass skin, refreshed, natural look - what Charlotte calls the 'ring light effect' (something she's famous for) in seconds.
Charlotte Tilbury places in between their Hollywood Flawless Filter and Beautiful Skin Foundation in terms of coverage, so it's a great option if you're looking for something lighter for summer.
I'm someone who doesn't like too much make-up, so theis perfect for me, I found it gave my skin that 'Paris filter' finish, without feeling heavy or tacky.
I've been wearing it both alone, and layered with and have been impressed with just how glowy and sheer my face has looked once applied, I look not only natural but younger without a heavy, cakey finish but a light, radiant look.
Plus, it's fast to use.
You simply glide on (or in my case scribble) over your face and blend, and you're done.
I'm all for this lazy girl attitude to beauty, and so this has quickly become my go-to base, and I can't see it leaving my make-up bag anytime soon.
But why and how does it work so well?
Charlotte Tilbury's Unreal Skin is packed full of skincare benefits including Plant Powered Collageneer, Multi Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid, Daikon Radish Seed Oil, and Vitamin E.
The Plant-Powered Collageneer works to help improve the look and feel of your skin by improving bounce, firmness and elasticity, while Hyaluronic Acid, helps to hydrate your skin and keep your skin looking plum and reducing wrinkles.
Daikon Radish Seed Oil helps to hydrate skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and Vitamin R keeps skin nourished, hydrated and looking younger.
All these super-powered skincare benefits work while you're wearing it to keep your skin glowing long after you've used it.
Charlotte Tilbury's Unreal Skin uses Light Mapping Mesh Tech to "cascade light around your face for a soft focus glow". While the results are immediately and visibly obvious there's also a lot of work going on inside the formula to ensure your skin continues looking this way.
The formula includes Hyaluronic Acid and micro-fine pearlescent filters, the formula ensures light is cascaded across the face, creating a lit-from-within, glass skin glow, and a snatched sculpted finish.
So, it's easy to see why it's converting non-foundation wearers and foundation wearers alike.
Speaking about the formula Charlotte said: “I’ve always been obsessed with light. Like a light thief, I bottle the magic of light to share it with the world!
"From lighting tricks used by old Hollywood stars, cinematographers and fashion photographers, to Hollywood HMI lights, spotlights, and the flattering effect of candlelight, moonlight, and pink light, I have studied them all and put them in my products!
"Now I have taken the smoothing, blurring,lit-from-within effects of the viral ring light and bottled them using my Light Mapping Mesh Tech".
For me, one of the biggest wins (apart from the incredible no-filter look) is the speed in which you can use it.
It takes seconds to apply, you glide it over your face, and blend it with your fingers or a brush - and you can customise your coverage by just adding more or less.
I'm not joking, literally seconds - and to be honest, it's really hard to overuse it.
In fact, it's so easy Charlotte Tilbury herself has said it can be done in the dark.
Speaking about the new , Charlotte Tilbury said: " I’ve been working in my magic innovation lab and this is my brand new glow formula in a brand new glow foundation for a supernatural ring light effect glow!
"Unreal skin gives you that smooth, soft-focus, blurred glow that looks so natural and makes your face look so naturally beautiful, so refreshed and rested, like your skin after a relaxing holiday!
If you are a no-foundation foundation girl, you are going to love this! If you are all about effortless makeup you are going to love this!
If you want that naturally beautiful skin glow, like you’ve just been to the spa, you are going to love this! Everyone will be asking you…
‘Is it real? Or is it unreal?”
Having already been used on red carpets, and celebs alike, Charlotte has said everyone is already obsessed, and me included.
It's really easy to see why.
Not only does my skin feel hydrated when using it, but it also doesn't feel sticky or like I'm wearing any makeup at all.
But the glow is what really does it for me, alone or with Flawless Filter I look healthy and radiant. It provides enough coverage to make me look woken up, and natural without looking like I've caked it on.
