Tyson Fury talks up future MMA fight after WWE and boxing as he insists eye stitches are healing nicely
TYSON FURY insisted his war wounds are healing just fine ahead of his WWE debut - and hinted that he might move on to MMA after that.
The Gypsy King, 31, will wrestle the 27st Braun Strowman at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia on October 31.
That is despite the fact he needed 48 stitches last month following his win over Otto Wallin in Las Vegas, and could jeopardise his rematch against WBC title holder Deontay Wilder in February.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will also make his bow on the same night when he faces Brock Lesnar for the WWE title – the same man he beat for the Octagon crown in 2010.
Fury is set to pocket around £12m for what many believed would be a one-off battle outside the boxing ring.
But it seems he has other ambitions as he declared he wanted to take over “combat sports” during an interview with .
He said: "I'm taking over. I'm taking over all combat sports.
“So whatever combat sports you're in, beware because The Gypsy King is coming.”
And when pressed on whether that meant MMA, he replied: “MMA takeover.”
Fury also added that the cuts above his eye are healing well.
Ahead of his clash with Strowman, the Brit is taking part in a number of interviews to promote the showdown.
And he is adamant he is not feeling the nerves prior to stepping inside the squared-circle.
