World Series hero takes home run to the gut to save his two beers in incredible video

A BASEBALL fan made the best play of the World Series game on Sunday when he took a home run to the gut to save his two beers.

Incredible footage shows the moment the double-parked fan protected his two Bud Lights by absorbing the ball in his stomach.

Jeff Adams, from Washington DC, has been hailed a “hero” after he didn’t spill a drop of beer thanks to his body catch.

He was supporting the Washington Nationals as they hosted the Houston Astros in Game 5 of the World Series.

Jeff had just bought two cans in the sixth inning when a 400-foot zinger from Astros slugger Yordan Álvarez came speeding towards him.

When faced with the split-second decision of making a home run catch or saving his beer, Jeff chose the beer.

Video shows the moment he braced for impact and took the hit like a true champion.

“I was coming down, having a few beers and I saw the ball come and I wanted to catch it in my chest, because my hands were full of Bud Light,” he told reporters after the game.

And when asked if he was hurting, the legend replied: “I’m solid”.

Footage of his heroics quickly went viral, with thousands congratulating him and Bud Light starting a campaign to find the beer lover.

Bud Light tweeted: “This man is a hero. Twitter please figure out who this guy is so we can reward him. #WorldSeries.”

Mike Petriello tweeted: “Here's to you, guy who took a World Series home run to the gut so he didn't drop either of the beers he was double fisting.”

Tim Cates added: “Great job by the Nationals fan who did not drop either beer and played the ball off his stomach. Must be a former catcher or goalie.”

Scott Patterson tweeted: “Nationals fan holding two beers and absorbed Alvarez’s HR missile into your gut, got the ball, didn’t spill a drop - you are my spirit animal”

Fadel Allassan: “Ok a beer at Nationals Park is like $15 so I can understand why he held on for dear life.”

Corbet Sandvick tweeted: “Catch a World Series home run or drop a beer? I think this guy has his priorities straight.”

But even Jeff’s incredible defensive play couldn’t save his team on Sunday as they lost 7-1.

It was the highlight of the eventful game which also saw an appearance from Donald Trump.

His appearance came at a high-profile moment of his presidency – but he still drew loud boos and jeers when introduced to the crowd.

Wearing a dark suit and a tie, Trump arrived at Nationals Park just before the first pitch of the Houston Astros-Washington Nationals matchup.

Hours earlier, he had announced that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had been killed during a US raid on his hideout in northeast Syria.

Trump and first lady Melania entered a lower-tier box to the left of home plate as the game got underway.

At that point his presence wasn't formally announced, but baseball fans in the section just below Trump's suite turned to look toward the box as he arrived.

Some waved at the president as he smiled and gave a thumbs-up.

At the end of the third inning, ballpark video screens carried a salute to U.S. service members that drew cheers throughout the stadium.

When the video cut to Trump, cheers abruptly turned into a torrent of boos and heckling.

Chants of "Lock him up!" broke out in some sections.

Trump appeared unfazed and continued waving. Later, some fans behind home plate held a sign reading "VETERANS FOR IMPEACHMENT".

Another banner appeared during the game: ";IMPEACH TRUMP!"
