Chris Hughton to snub Stoke job offer and hold out for Premier League role months after Brighton axe
CHRIS HUGHTON will snub any advances from managerless Stoke as he holds out for a Premier League role.
The ex-Brighton boss is the bookies' favourite to take over at the Potters.
But SunSport understands he is not interested in taking over at the Championship's bottom club and is waiting for another crack at the top flight.
Hughton, 60, was ruthlessly axed by Albion in May despite winning the club promotion to the Premier League and then keeping them there for two seasons.
The former Newcastle and Norwich chief also took the Seagulls to the FA Cup semi-final last year.
Stoke are on the lookout for a new manager after finally calling time last week on the nightmare tenure of Nathan Jones - who used to be on Hughton's coaching staff at Brighton.
SunSport exclusively revealed that Stoke made an audacious bid to land Scotland boss Steve Clarke as their new manager.

But Clarke has not given the Championship strugglers any optimism in their efforts to lure him back into club management.
The 56-year-old has won just two of his six games in charge since he was appointed in May.
Stoke are slumped at the bottom of the Championship with just eight points from 15 games ahead of Saturday's trip to Barnsley.
