Floyd Mayweather offers to pay George Floyd’s funeral costs as it’s what ‘he feels is right in his heart’

BOXING legend Floyd Mayweather has offered to pay for the funeral of George Floyd.

The USA has erupted into chaos after Floyd died in police custody in Minneapolis a week ago.

reports that Mayweather Jr has offered to fund the cost of Floyd’s funeral.

He wants to foot the bill for four services taking place in Houston, Minnesota, Charlotte and another yet-to-be-determined location.

TMZ said Mayweather Jr’s closest people told them: “He is just doing what he feels is right in his heart.”

A new update claims Floyd’s family have accepted Mayweather Jr’s offer.

In the UK, Manchester United stars Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford sent powerful anti-racism messages to pay tribute to Floyd.

Pogba said: “I felt anger, pity, hatred, indignation, pain, sadness. Sadness for George and all black people who suffer racism every day.

“Whether in football, at work, at school, anywhere! This has to stop, once and for all. Not tomorrow or the next day, today!

“Violent racism can no longer be tolerated. I can’t tolerate. I won’t tolerate. We won’t tolerate. Racism is ignorance. Love is intelligence.”

Rashford aded: “I’ve trying to process what is going on in the world.

“At a time I’ve been asking people to come together, work together and be united, we appear more divided than ever.

“People are hurting and need answers. Black lives matter. Black culture matters. Black communities matter. We matter.”

In Germany, Jadon Sancho unveiled a ‘Justice for George Floyd’ T-shirt after netting a hat-trick for Borussia Dortmund.

He was booked by the referee after removing his football jersey to show the message.

And Sancho could yet face further punishment from the German FA for his actions.
