Blue can have him

Chelsea told by incoming Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti they can have Mario Gotze

German World Cup winner has fallen down the pecking order at the Bundesliga giants with Liverpool also after midfielder

CHELSEA are trying to beat Liverpool to land £35million World Cup winner Mario Gotze after a tip-off from ex-boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Blues have also sparked rumours John Terry will now stay by axing a farewell tribute for their captain.

SunSport understands incoming Bayern Munich boss Ancelotti alerted his old club weeks ago that German star Gotze was not in his plans for next season.

The Stamford Bridge club acted on the information and it is believed they have already had discussions with Gotze’s representatives.

Bayern will demand a fee of around £35m for the 23-year-old after spending the same amount on Benfica teenager Renato Sanches.

Liverpool are also willing to meet the fee but have been left trailing in the chase — despite former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Gotze’s close relationship with Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Blues are ready to spend £100m overhauling their squad after a dreadful title defence.

New boss Antonio Conte stated his priority is a central defender and a striker — but he has approved the move for Gotze, who scored Germany’s winner in the 2014 World Cup final.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are ready to announce a shock U-turn and give Terry a new 12-month deal.
