WWE ‘re-hiring staff released in April’ with writer back to work but stars like Kurt Angle still free agents

WWE are reportedly re-hiring staff that were released in April for coronavirus cuts.

Vince McMahon’s company were one of the few sports organisations still operating during the initial months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

But to deal with financial cutbacks, WWE announced in April that and they were furloughing part of their workforce.

Among the high-profile names to be released on April 15 as part of coronavirus cuts included Kurt Angle, Zack Ryder, and Rusev.

English wrestler Drake Maverick shared an emotional video sharing his fears and devastation about being released and has since been rehired.

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle snubbed an offer to return as Matt Riddle’s manager several weeks ago and is now a free agent.

Yet  is reporting that Andrea Listenberger is back with the company.

The WWE writer, who was responsible for the Mandy Rose-Otis-storyline, has reportedly “been back for quite a while.”

The same outlet also revealed the return of Pat Buck as a temporary replacement for Michael Hayes while he recovers from an operation.

It is yet to be announced whether or not staffers were brought back on the same salary as before.

Meanwhile, WWE legend Ric Flair has claimed that working at the Performance Center is safer than going to the grocery store despite a spate of positive coronavirus tests in WWE.

Announcers Renee Young and Kayla Braxton, plus producers Adam Pearce and Jamie Noble were among the star names confirmed as having Covid-19 last month following testing.

That comes after reports of superstars being filled with concern and frustration over WWE boss Vince McMahon keeping business open throughout the pandemic.
