Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men are on the verge of securing a return to Europe's premier competition.

But they could be denied a spot in the Champions League even if they finish in fourth place at the end of the day.

United are level on 63 points with Chelsea but are ahead of Frank Lampard's side thanks to their 15-goal superior goal difference.

Leicester are just one point further back and Brendan Rodgers' men host United with everything to play for.

If a run of results go against the Red Devils they may miss out even if they clinch fourth spot.

After Man City had their European ban overturned by CAS, it is just the usual top four that will qualify.

The Citizens and Champions Liverpool will automatically enter the group stage as the top two.

But if both the winners of the Champions League and Europa League are English sides and they both finish outside the top four then fourth spot would only be enough for Europa League football.

Wolves are still in with a shot in the Europa League and can finish no higher than fifth today.

Their opponents this afternoon, Chelsea, would need to win the Champions League and finish outside the top four.

LADBROKES 1-2-FREE

Given the Blues are 3-0 down to Bayern Munich after their Last 16 first leg, it is highly unlikely.

Lampard's side would need to lose to Wolves and Leicester would have to beat United to ensure the Red Devils finish fourth today.
