Manchester United’s Greenwood, 18, and Man City’s Foden, 20, will now return home instead of traveling with the rest of the squad to face Denmark tomorrow.
But before boarding a private plane flying them back to Manchester tonight, the duo have been hit with a £1,360 fine for the Covid rule breach.
SunSport understands that their respective clubs could also punish them financially upon their return.
The fine must be paid by the players themselves and not the FA or by City or United.
The pair, who made their international debuts in the Nations League victory, were described as “gentlemen” by the girls who visited them at the hotel.
Model Nadia Sif Lindal Gunnarsdottir, 20, has revealed how she had been chatting with Greenwood for a “couple of days” before he and Foden arrived in Iceland.
