Wilfried Bony unlikely to leave Man City and return to Swansea

Ivory Coast striker has has failed to fire at Eithad but no move back to Wales on the horizon after his successful spell there

MANCHESTER CITY striker Wilfried Bony's hopes of a return to Swansea appear doomed.

According to the South Wales Evening Post, Swans sources have played down interest in their former star, with Bony's wage demands thought to be about £90,000 a week, the main stumbling block.

The Ivory Coast man played his way to becoming a fans' favourite during his first time at the Liberty Stadium after scoring 35 goals in 70 games following his £12million move from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013

He was the Premier League's top scorer during the calendar year of 2014.

However, the 27-year-old has endured a miserable time in front of goal since moving to the Eithad.

Bony has failed to fire and establish himself as a first-team regular since arriving in Manchester in January 2015.

The once proflic Bony has managed just 10 goals in 46 appearances, including none since the start of 2016.

One of his rare goals was against ... Swansea last December.
