Ruiz came in as a late replacement for Jarrell Miller, who ruled himself out of a shot at Joshua's titles after three failed drug tests.

And AJ was then stunned as he was beaten in seven rounds, capping off a remarkable upset.

But as Joshua, 32, dedicated himself in training, Ruiz, also 32, enjoyed the high life of partying which would cost him the unified belts.

AJ reclaimed his throne with a points win in December 2019, leaving Ruiz with a re-building job on his hand.

He started off by firing Robles and replacing him with Canelo Alvarez's head coach Eddy Reynoso.

Ruiz saw off Chris Arreola in his May 2021 comeback and is now preparing to battle Luis Ortiz in August.

AJ meanwhile suffered a shock defeat to Oleksandr Usyk and has been out of the ring since last September.
