Wimbledon 2016: Laura Robson crashes out on day one to No 4 seed Angelique Kerber
Robson has dropped to No 294 in the world after long injury lay off and was easily dealt with by Kerber who trounced 6-2 6-2
LAURA ROBSON became the latest Brit to crash out of Wimbledon on day one, as Angelique Kerber handed her a real lesson in grass court tennis.
This was always going to be a tough ask for Robson, who has slipped to No283 in the world following a spate of frustrating injuries in the past few years.
And it proved so as the German No4 seed broke in the fifth game of the opening set to put herself in the driving seat.
Kerber went on to break again - in the seventh game - before closing out the set 6-2.

Yet Kerber broke again in the fifth game to take a commanding 4-1 lead, before easily closing out the match to win 6-2 6-2.
