Everton boss Ronald Koeman lines up reunion with goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg
Fulham's former Dutch international played under compatriot at Ajax and while on loan at Southampton last season
NEW EVERTON boss Ronald Koeman has a reunion with goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg in his sights.
Koeman is looking to bolster his options in the last line of defence and eyes his Dutch compatriot as the ideal man to do it.
The 33-year-old Stekelenburg spent last season on loan at Koeman’s Southampton from Championship side Fulham
He joined the Cottagers from Roma for £3million in 2013 but has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Monaco and then Southampton.
Fulham are now keen to get his reported £25,000-a-week wages off their bill and that could see the 54-time capped Stekelenburg leave for £1million.

Stekelenburg, who played for his country in the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Championships, also played under Koeman at Ajax.
He made 25 appearances at Saints, where he was back-up to England’s Fraser Forster, keeping 10 clean sheets.
And it’s a role Koeman believes he can fill again at Goodison Park with the Blues having just one senior goalkeeper on the books, Spaniard Joel Robles, following Tim Howard’s departure at the end of last season.
Koeman is hunting a new No1 and another Dutchman, Newcastle’s Tim Krul, is a possible target.
