FORMER Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has joined Championship club Preston after an unhappy year at West Brom.
The Denmark international only played one game for the Baggies after joining on a free transfer from the Red Devils last August.
The 32-year-old Lindegaard spent four-and-a-half years at United before dropping down the pecking order at Old Trafford when then Reds boss Louis Van Gaal brought in Victor Valdes and Sergio Romeo.
But the move to the Hawthorns turned into a nightmare for Lindegaard, who made his only appearance in a Capital One Cup tie, a 3-0 defeat at Norwich.
He went out loan to Preston and played 14 times.
The Baggies agreed to cancel Lindegaard’s contract, which still had a year left on it, to allow the move to Deepdale.
Despite dropping down to the Championship, Lindegaard is delighted to be heading back to the Lilywhites on a permanent basis.
He said: "It was a very easy decision. I could have gone to several other clubs in England but it was a no brainer. I wanted to stay here.
