Katie Boulter a Wimbledon doubt as Brit retires from Nottingham quarters despite commanding lead
KATIE BOULTER is an injury doubt for Wimbledon after suffering a right elbow issue.
The British No.8 retired from her quarter-final at the Nottingham Open despite leading 7-6 0-2 against American Lauren Davis.
The Leicester star, 24, does not yet know the full extent of the injury and faces a race to be fit for Wimbledon, which starts on June 28.
At the same tournament, Jo Konta withdrew from the doubles action to protect her knees as she won a third straight singles match on grass.
The British No.1 beat Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck 6-3 7-6 and faces Serbian Nina Stojanovic in the semi-finals, searching for a first WTA title in four years.

Konta, 30, said: “I’m really happy to get through that match.
“This is the first time I have played successive matches for a while. My body does feel it a little bit.
“I feel a bit in my knees but it’s making those decisions to make sure I can compete on Saturday and maybe the day after that. It’s all about managing my body.”
