MANCHESTER City have confirmed the big money signing of John Stones for £47 million, and in turn are making his first club Barsnley a large sum of money.
SunSport have now had a look at some of the other potentially huge sell-on fee's that British stars have earned their old clubs.
City new-boy Stones seems to be the best place to start.
He signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with Everton on the 31 January 2013, for a transfer fee reported to be in the region of £3, from Football League club Barnsley.
In the move, a clause was added that meant the club will earn 15 per cent of any future deal involving The England ace.
This means that Barnsley are about to earn an impressive £7.5m from the Citizens purchase of the talented centre-half.
A slightly different situation arose involving the ex-worlds most expensive player in Real Madrid's Gareth Bale and his boyhood club Southampton.
When a deal was first agreed between Saints and Tottenham, a clause was in place that would see the saints earn 20 per cent of any further deals involving Bale.
However, Southampton eventually hit money troubles which saw them settle for £3, up front from the North London club and the removal of the sell-on clause.
Another big money signing City have made in recent years is the £49m transfer of Raheem Sterling.
His move earned old club QPR a huge sum of around £7.8m, and helped them sign players for themselves.
Sterling's old Kop compatriot Jordan Ibe also made his old club a decent profit from his recent £15m move to Bournemouth.
In turn that earned Wycombe Wanderers a tasty £2.25 million.
Manchester United defender Chris Smalling earned Maidstone a minuscule 0.2 per cent of his price tag, so the non-league club failed to make a huge profit on him,
But if Leicester City star Jamie Vardy were to move, it would earn Fleetwood around £7m, an amount which could keep them financially stabled for years to come.
