NUNO ESPIRITO SANTO will decide tomorrow whether Harry Kane will feature for Tottenham against Manchester City.

The England captain - who has told Spurs he wants to leave them for City - returned to full training with the North Londoners today ahead of Sunday’s juicy Prem opener between the clubs.

But new Tottenham boss Nuno refused to say whether he believed Kane would still be at the club after the transfer window.

The wantaway striker, 28, rejoined their squad this morning after taking a negative coronavirus test. He had been self-isolating in his plush quarters at Tottenham’s Enfield training HQ after returning late from his extended summer break in Florida and the Bahamas

Nuno revealed at his Press conference this lunchtime: “Harry joined the group today.

"He trained. We had a talk. Of course it’s a private conversation but everything is OK.

“He’s preparing himself like Bryan Gill, like Cristian Romero and players that joined us later. We have to be careful but everything is OK.”

Asked whether Kane will feature against City, Nuno said: “We still have the session of tomorrow to decide.

“Romero, Bryan, Harry, players who don’t have too many sessions with us, we have to think and we still have tomorrow to make decisions.”

Tottenham want £160million for Kane, who still has three years left on his contract - while City are hoping to negotiate a lower fee.

Nuno insisted last month Kane would be staying at Spurs.

But when asked today if he expected the star to still be at the club after the deadline, he was less emphatic.

The Portuguese said: “He’s here with us. He’s here with us. He’s a Tottenham player. He’s here with us.

“We just have to think about tomorrow. Tomorrow. Let’s prepare the training session of tomorrow.

“We go day by day. All the players who work with us are our players.”

So will Nuno be trying to persuade Kane to stay at his boyhood club?

The new gaffer said: “My job is to prepare Tottenham players the best I can.

“I don’t have any concern on trying to convince players to play for Tottenham.

"It’s a huge club, a fantastic club, so we should be proud to be here.

"My job is to prepare. The players know that. We prepare them every day. “

Kane’s situation is far from ideal for Nuno as he prepares for his first Prem match in charge of Spurs.

But he said: “Look we cannot control what’s happening outside the building. We cannot control the news, the speculation, the rumours, all these things that surround us as a club.

“But we as a group of players we close. That’s the best way we have to prepare ourselves. Among us cannot be distractions.

“We are clear on what we have to do. We have a shield and we have to protect that shield as best we can.”
