Dream Team winners Mick and Jayne won big in our footie competition … is it your turn next?
Nottingham Forest fans are the most successful married couple in Dream Team's 22-year history
MICK and Jayne Byrom are Sun Dream Team’s dream couple.
The Nottingham Forest supporters are the most successful married couple in the 22-year history of Dream Team.
Five years ago, supermarket worker Mick won £50,000 as national runner-up.
And three years later, Jayne was joint leader going into the last game of the season but slipped to fourth — which still earned her £20,000.
They spent their winnings on a new car, foreign holidays with their three kids and a brand-new kitchen for their home in Barnsley, South Yorks.
Now the couple are competing against each other again in this season’s Dream Team.
Housewife Jayne, 47, says: “There is definitely some rivalry on match days. Mick can’t stand it if I get points when he doesn’t.”
And Mick, 50, adds: “We’ve got our fingers crossed for another good year. I just love the buzz of seeing how my teams get on each week.”
Mick began playing Dream Team when The Sun first launched it in 1994 — but didn’t win a penny until 2011 when he was runner-up with a team that included Manchester rivals Wayne Rooney and Yaya Toure.
That big win soon encouraged Jayne to start playing Dream Team, too.
She says: “It was a bit of a case of, ‘If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em’.”
