Marcus Rashford urges voters to ask MPs to end the ‘child hunger pandemic’
MARCUS Rashford is calling on voters to write to their MP to urge them to back recommendations to end what he calls the “child hunger pandemic”.
The England and Man United footballer said that child food poverty was getting worse.
Marcus, 23, is backing more free school meals eligibility, long-term Holiday Activities and Food Programme funding and eligibility for the Healthy Start campaign widened.
He said: “You can fill 27 Wembley stadiums with the 2.5million children struggling to know where their next meal is coming from.
“I hope we will see the required investment pledged in the Autumn Spending Review.
I will be writing to my MP about it and encourage you all to do the same.”
Last year, he forced the PM into a school holidays free meals U-turn.
Anger at £1.50 FA print-out ticket fee
ENGLAND footie fans have blasted the FA for charging them £1.50 to print off match tickets.
Supporters have the option to get their Wembley ticket sent to them electronically, to pay £2.50 to have it delivered or be charged to print it out.
England Supporters’ Club member Pat Tissington was stunned to find the additional cost when he tried to get a pair of tickets for next month’s Hungary game.
He said: “I think we’ll leave it.”
A supporter fumed ahead of yesterday’s game against Andorra: “£1.50 for an email, essentially?”
Fan Tim Roberts blasted: “We must build a jail especially for the FA.”
Wembley was also in the firing line over its high food and drink costs. Pints were sold yesterday for £6.15.
The FA said: “Wembley charges a nominal fee for each order of tickets.”
