FORMER Man United target Steven Defour is undergoing a medical ahead of a reported £6million move from Anderlecht to BURNLEY

Defour has been courted by a number of Premier League clubs in his career, with Everton also having a bid rejected back in 2011.

Manchester United were interested when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge but a deal never materialised for the Belgian.

The newly promoted Premier League side will be signing an experienced international with 46 caps to his name.

Defour has won two league titles with Standard Liege and another two titles with FC Porto in Portugal.

Sean Dyche has clearly identified the experience needed to help his side stay up in the Premier League this season after they went down at the first attempt two years ago.

Burnley will need to make Turf Moor a fortress and with the addition of a midfielder with the experience of Defour, Dyche will be confident his side can pick up vital points.

Burnley lost 0-1 at home to  Swansea City on the opening day of the season and will know home form is vital to surviving in the top flight.

Burnley are at home again this weekend when they face an in-form Liverpool side who have rearranged the fixture due to Anfield not being ready in time for the new season.
