It's Wilson's week

West Brom youngster Kane Wilson recieves dazzling set of GCSE results two days after making his professional debut

16-year old defender gets a brilliant surprise as he finds out his marks after a long day in training

KANE WILSON has had an enviable few days - he made his debut for West Brom on Tuesday night and today the 16-year old received a top set of GCSE results to cap off a great week.

And it isn't even over yet!

Wilson was born in March 2000 and was brought on as a second half substitute in West Brom's shock exit on penalties against League One side Northampton Town in the EFL Cup.

Despite the disappointing result the youngster was praised for his performance against a tough, physical side.

He said: “These last few days have just been crazy, they’ve probably been the best couple of days of my life.

“To make my debut for Albion was amazing and the support I have since received from fans has been fantastic.

“It was an unbelievable experience and the atmosphere was crazy.

“It was the proudest moment of my life."

And 48 hours later, Wilson's parents had to be up early to collect their sons GCSE results for him and they weren't about to be disappointed.

The teenager passed an impressive 11 GCSEs achieving 2 A's, 4 B's and 5 C's.

His A Grades came in ICT and Citizenship.

Speaking about his (second) big day he said: “My family came to pick me up from training and they had been to collect my results from my school.

“I couldn’t wait and had to open them in the car.

“When I read the results out we all went crazy, I was delighted with them.

“I got A’s in ICT and citizenship and then B’s in English and physics.

“I only got a B in PE though so I don’t know what has gone wrong there, I’m gutted about that.”

But the B grade in PE is unlikely to stunt the growth of Albion's newest young hopeful as he looks to build on his debut for the club.

Wilson could even become the first millennial to play in the Premier League if Tony Pulis is willing to reward his strong performance on Tuesday with a place in the squad to face Middlesbrough this Sunday.

This would surely be the icing on the cake for the defender who's luck is most certainly in at the moment.
