Arsenal transfer news: Gunners and Chelsea join the race to sign Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez

The Colombian midfielder is out of favour at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane... but could cost £65m to snap up

CHELSEA and Arsenal could battle it out to sign Real Madrid's James Rodriguez.

SunSport reported yesterday how the Colombian was spotted house-hunting in Turin amid speculation he was about to sign for Juventus.

However, it appears there is also interest from the Premier League, with both Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte prepared to lock horns in a bid to sign the midfielder.

Spanish news-site reports that both London clubs are interested in the playmaker, who appears to have fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu.

Rodriguez caught the eye of Madrid during the 2014 World Cup as they signed him for £63million from Monaco and Los Blancos will want to re-coup most of that outlay.

Spanish newspaper has claimed that the player could be available for a mouth watering £65m.

Rodriguez was part of Real’s Champions League winning squad and after just two years looks oddly to be surplus to requirements.

Other sources in Spain have mentioned Liverpool as also being likely suitors, as the race hots up for the 25-year-old.
