Lazio 0 Juventus 1: Sami Khedira second-half winner lifts Italian champions to back-to-back wins in Serie A
German's strike made it two wins from two for the champions to kick-start their Serie A title defence
JUVENTUS grabbed full points against Lazio as Sami Khedira scored a second-half winner in Rome.
The Serie A champions needed a half-time boost, and Khedira produced the all-important moment of magic in some style.
Lazio kept control of the game in the first-half but showed little in front of goal to say the least.
Frustration was already surrounding the Rome's stadium early on when Stefan Radu picked up a yellow card for a bad foul.
Khedira came close to scoring on the half-hour mark when he caught a Dani Alves cross with a right footed shot from the centre of the box, while Alves fired from outside the box moments before.
Kwadwo Asamoah also had a go with his left foot from inside the area, but it was saved in the top left corner.
Alex Sandro won a free kick in the defensive half for Juventus just before the interval but nothing resulted from the Serie A reigning champions.
Going goalless into the second-half, Khedira missed another chance in the 55th minute when he rifled high and wide from outside the area.
Juventus had full domination in the second half, and a goal was just awaiting.
Giorgio Chiellini tried to find the opener with a header from the centre of the box, but missed as it was too high.
Then, Khedira finally found the net six minutes after the hour mark when he linked with a Paulo Dybala chip pass over the Lazio defence, and found home from inside the six-yard box with a first-touch finish with his right foot.
Marco Parolo fired from outside the box in the 85th minute in what was Lazio's first and only shot on target - it was not quite that for the hosts this weekend.
Many freaked out this summer when Paul Pogba's summer-sage came to an end in July, resulting with a world record transfer fee of £89million to join Manchester United.
Really, it is just a matter of time for Juventus to adapt to life without Pogba and find again the tactic to impose an immediate domination with early scoring.
