Conor McGregor reveals broken leg is nearly ‘fully healed’ and vows to make UFC return as soon he’s ‘cleared to spar’
CONOR MCGREGOR has revealed he plans to return to the octagon as soon as he's 'cleared to spar'.
The UFC's poster boy is recovering from the horrific broken leg he suffered in his July trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.
McGregor, 33, has made great strides in his recovery from the nasty injury and plans to get back in the cage as soon as he's given the all-clear to resume sparring.
During an impromptu Twitter Q&A on Saturday night, he tweeted: "As soon as I am cleared to spar I will be straight back in."
McGregor's manager - Audie Attar - revealed to SunSport in October that the Irishman's recovery is 'ahead of schedule'.
And the former two-division champion has informed fans he's currently waiting for his tibia to fully heal.
He told his nine million Twitter followers: "The fibula is fully healed.
"The medial side of the tibia is developing nice callous also.

"It is just patience now for it to form down through the bone to the lateral side of the tibia where the larger break occurred.
"It’s getting there. Patience will win this race for me!"
The UFC's first two-division champion has been putting in plenty of hours in the gym between his intense rehabilitation sessions.
And his physique has well and truly reaped the rewards of all his hard work.
Head coach and good friend John Kavanagh has been blown away by his countryman's frame and recently revealed they'll resume mat work in the next 'couple of weeks'.
He told : "He’s going to be back in the gym, he’s going to be back on the mats now in the next couple of weeks with me.
“He’s doing a lot of strength training at the moment.
"The guys is jacked. I think he’s coming back as a middleweight (laughs).
"But he’ll be back on the mats with me now shortly and we’ll start off with combat sports training again.
"And, he’s getting some, um… I always have to choose my words carefully here, but look, we’ll start with drills.
“I actually joked with him, I said, ‘look, I’d rather if we just start off with some techniques, some drills, let’s see how you’re going’.

"And he’s like, ‘no, I’m going to do five by five, that’s what I’m coming back to do’.
"And I’m like, oh, great, you know, we’re straight into full combat training again."
