Andre Ayew has been summoned home to Ghana because there is a herbal medicine that can cure his injury in just two weeks, it has been claimed.
The Hammers paid over £20m for their star summer signing from Swansea City and were sick when he was injured at Stamford Bridge in their opening Premier League match.
According to the there is a pressing concern to get Ayew on this herbal treatment plan sooner rather than later by the Ghana officials.
Ayew is not expected back until November but Ghana FA chiefs believe they have traditional remedies in the country that can see to that problem.
It seems a familiar case to that of Robin Van Persie when he flew out to Serbia to have horse placenta fluid rubbed in to his ankle after he was injured on international duty for Holland during his time at Arsenal.
The treatment was not a great success for the Dutchman and it raised many eyebrows that such a high profile player received the bizarre treatment in the first place.
