Transfer news: Juventus look to tie up deals for Juan Cuadrado and Axel Witsel

JUVENTUS could be about to make a double swoop today for Juan Cuadrado and Axel Witsel.

Cuadrado's agent is set to meet with Chelsea representatives today in London to thrash out a deal to take the Colombian midfielder back to the Italian outfit.

And Juventus are also set to contact Zenit St Petersburg in a bid to tempt them to part with Belgian international Witsel.

Cuadrado spent last season on loan with Juventus, and the club are keen to re-sign the player on a similar agreement.

However, Chelsea appear keen for either a permanent deal, or with a stipulation to buy, with Cuadrado seemingly not in boss Antonio Conte's plans.

Witsel has previously said he will see out his contract at Zenit, which expires at the end of the current season. However, rather than lose him for nothing, the Russian's could be tempted to cash in.

News sources in Italy have already reported Zenit have turned down Juventus' opening bid of £15million.

The pursuit comes after Juventus seemingly abandoned their bid to snap up PSG middle man Blaise Matuidi.

They were also rumoured to be eyeing up Moussa Sissoko, but with Newcastle holding out for more than £30million, Witsel could prove to be a more realistic transfer.

They are desperate to move quickly to fill the void left by Paul Pogba's £89million move to Manchester United.
