‘I will never disrespect the fans’ – Anthony Martial hits back at Ralf Rangnick’s claim he refused to face Aston Villa
ANTHONY MARTIAL hit back at Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick after the German claimed he refused to travel to Aston Villa.
Rangnick named just eight substitutes - two of which were goalkeepers - in the 2-2 draw at Villa Park.
"I've been here for seven years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans."
The outburst comes in response to Rangnick blaming the Frenchman for his absence in Saturday's match.
Rangnick said: "He didn't want to be in the squad.
"He would have been in the squad normally, but he didn't want to. That is the reason why he was not travelling with us yesterday (on Friday)."

Sevilla are reportedly planning a new bid to sign Martial on loan this month.
But there has been a stumbling block in negotiations with United wanting Sevilla to pay more than half of Martial's £130k-a-week wages - a demand Sevilla are unwilling to meet.
And after snubbing a move to Newcastle Martial now appears to be in a tricky spot with Rangnick seemingly not willing to include the forward in his squad.
