WWE star Mustafa Ali’s future in doubt after blazing row with Vince McMahon sees him axed from TV for past three months

WWE ace Mustafa Ali has requested to be released from his contract amid reports of a blazing row with chairman Vince McMahon.

The 35-year-old former police officer, who joined WWE in 2016, hasn't featured for the company since November.

According to reporter Sean Ross Sapp, the Illinois native exchanged heated words with McMahon towards the end of 2021.

He : "An argument with Vince McMahon may have led to Mustafa Ali's WWE absence since November, Fightful Select has learned."

And following his post, Ali has taken to social media to urge WWE to rip up his contract.

The SmackDown star : "I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling.

"Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE.

"Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE."

In the six years he has been signed with WWE, Ali has never won a championship with the organisation.

There has been no word yet on whether Ali's request has been granted, but WWE did agree to let Toni Storm go in December after she demanded to leave.

During an interview with the in October, Ali revealed that McMahon told him he was 'too nice'.

He said: "Even pre-pandemic, I was struggling to maintain television presence and I know it was all character-based.

“When you pitch a million and one ideas as far as stories, characters, promos, this and that and you always get told that you’re good but then nothing happens, you start pointing the finger at everybody except for you.

“After sitting at home for seven months and then finally coming back to Monday Night RAW, only to pick up a few victories and then to go back to not being on Monday Night RAW and now being stuck on Main Event, you’re kind of scratching your head.

“Like, what have I gotta do? And then you realise, you’ve gotta go ask the hard questions.

"I went up to Vince McMahon himself and said, ‘What am I missing?’ [He said], ‘Too polished, too clean, too nice, I don’t know if you have it in you!’”
