Italy keep phenomenal international unbeaten record after Algeria lose Afcon clash with Equatorial Guinea
ITALY’S world record unbeaten run of 37 game remains unmatched after Algeria blew their chance to top it.
The reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions went into this year’s competition in a fine run of form.
But they missed out on the opportunity to extend their undefeated run to 36 after they suffered a shock loss to Equatorial Guinea yesterday.
Algeria’s hot streak ended as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat to the minnows.
Esteban Obiang scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute.
That was the second disappointment for Algeria in the tournament so far.
They were held to a goalless draw by Sierra Leone in their opening game in Cameroon last week.

But the longest undefeated streak in the history of international football finally ended in October.
