  • Saliba not ruling out exit

He is yet to play for the senior side and last summer was shipped off to Marseille on loan.

Now the 20-year-old has admitted his time in the reserves was like a ‘slap in the face’ and hasn’t ruled out a permanent move away from the Emirates.

He told RMC: "Before going to Arsenal, I said to myself I was going to play, I was sure, I was wondering who I would play alongside.

"I arrive, I play zero matches. I played for the U23s. That gave me a good slap.

"Things go so fast in football. I don't want to think about the future. I am going to give my all. Then there will be discussions in summer."

  • Arsenal used as a 'smokescreen'

Chiefs at Arsenal have reportedly been left livid after Dusan Vlahovic agreed a deal to sign for Juventus.

According to ESPN, there is the belief at Arsenal they were used as a 'smokescreen' to negotiate a transfer to Juventus.

The Gunners had been strongly linked with the 21-year-old before he opted to join Juventus.

Mikel Arteta is in desperate need of a new striker, something that Vlahovic, who scored 33 Serie A goals in 2021, would have provided.

  • Arteta's striker woes continue

Arsenal are running out of time if they want to bring in a striker before the end of the transfer window.

And according to ESPN, things aren't getting any easier for the Gunners.

The club face a race against time to bring someone new in, having missed out on Dusan Vlahovic.

The Gunners have also been linked with Alexander Isak, but will have to be Real Sociedad his whopping £75million release clause.

Lille forward Jonathan David is another option, but the French club don't want to do business until the summer.

It leaves Mikel Arteta out of options, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang frozen out, and Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both intent on leaving.

  • Romano - Turner a 'done deal'

Matt Turner's move to Arsenal from MLS side New England Revolution is a 'done deal', according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

    The shot-stopper will join in a £5.8million deal, with a further £2.3m in add-ons.

But he won't officially link-up with the Gunners until the summer.

  • Wilshere still eyeing Prem return

Jack Wilshere still believes that he can play in the Premier League.

The former England ace last turned out in the top flight for West Ham around 18 months ago, and was released by Championship outfit Bournemouth in the summer.

Having failed to join a new club, Wilshere was invited to train with former side Arsenal by ex team-mate Mikel Arteta.

And having been working with the Gunners since October, Wilshere believes that his game is still up to scratch at Premier League level.

He told the : "I always said when I went back to Arsenal that I would make a decision about my next step at the end of January.

"When you’ve been out the game, you never know which way it will go. But it has convinced me that my playing career isn’t over.

"The manager is top class, and I wouldn’t still be training with the first team if I was bringing the standard down or couldn’t keep up."

  • Good morning Arsenal fans

Aston Villa completed the shock signing of Calum Chambers from Arsenal.

The 27-year-old defender has penned a three-and-a-half-year contract with Steven Gerrard’s side.

And according to Express reporter Ryan Taylor’s understanding, Arsenal received just £2million for Chambers.

But the deal also includes performance bonuses.

The Gunners have also missed out on Fiorentina ace Dusan Vlahovic, who is set to undergo a medical at Juventus.

  • Wolves confident on keeping Neves

Wolves are standing firm in their efforts to keep hold of Ruben Neves and are confident he will not leave this summer.

SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month that Manchester United were determined to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.

The Red Devils hoped a bid of around £35m would be enough to lure the Portuguese international to Old Trafford.

But that is yet to materialise with Wolves said to be willing to consider offers of £40m-£45m and above to part ways with their most talented player.

And SunSport understands Wolves are now confident they can keep hold of Neves until the summer at least – and hope qualifying for Europe could even convince him to stay.

With Arsenal also interested, it really would take an extraordinary offer for him to now leave the club with the January window shutting on Monday night.

  • Chambers fee

According to Express reporter Ryan Taylor's understanding, Arsenal received just £2million for Chambers.

Winterburn told Told  on behalf of : "Arteta has come out and said Jack is working towards his badges with the youth teams.

"If I’m honest, I don’t see it as an option.

"I’ve seen Jack’s interviews and I know Jack is fit enough to play, but he hasn’t been in the Premier League for a while.

"I’ve always stood up him because although I wasn’t injured a lot, I’ve seen others go through it.

"Mentally, it’s difficult to get yourself back into training and then back into action with the first team, match by match.

"I just feel with all the injuries he’s had and the time that’s gone by, I don’t personally see it being an option for Mikel Arteta.

"I think if it was then it would have already happened."

However, Allardyce isn't sure if Calvert-Lewin will remain at Goodison Park beyond the summer if a bigger club comes calling.

Big Sam told : "By not being in the team, his value has increased by 50%, and that’s by not playing.

"I think that if he keeps himself fit and carries on from where he left off last season – which was always in his locker when I was there – he was just a little bit too young at the time to start being the goal-scorer he is now."

"Anybody that could get him, they are going to improve their team massively. But not in this window.

"I think he’ll wait and see what the summer brings and see what Everton do. If he can stay fit from now until the end of the season a bigger club than Everton could come in for him."
