The Frenchman recently took on the role as both skipper and first-choice striker following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's fall from grace and subsequent departure from the Gunners.

“No-one ever really took me seriously, so I’m not going over there just to collect a cheque and ride off into the sunset.

Real Madrid are reportedly lining up a summer swoop to bring Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney to the Bernabeu.

He said: "At the end of the day, it's going to be how I continue to progress.

"[I'll] play in almost 20 games in the early parts of the season, and then get the move overseas and get to work in understanding a new culture, a new way of life, a different league, quality players from top to bottom that will really help me.

"It'll be more exposure to that type of play, and I think it's going to help me in the long run. But yeah, I think I'm in a pretty good spot, and I really liked how everything's progressing.

"I'm going to push myself and [Ramsdale] and continue to help him get better and help myself get better."

"He is a player who can make a difference, he works well in spaces and makes good runs into the area.

“As for Arsenal’s front three, I think Alexandre Lacazette will play with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe either side of him. Gabriel Martinelli getting sent off against Wolves is a massive blow for them.

"It shows the quality they have. It shows the quality and mentality now compared to the beginning of the season.”
