KYCK HIM OUT

Watch Australian Open security boot out rowdy fan on Nick Kyrgios’ orders as tennis ace wins doubles tournament

NICK KYRGIOS ordered Australian Open security to boot out a rowdy fan on his way to winning his maiden Grand Slam trophy.

The maverick Aussie, 26, was furious with a noisy supporter who shouted out during a crunch point in the doubles final.

And after clashing with the Aussie crowds earlier in the tournament, he refused to carry on until the heckler was kicked out of the Rod Laver Arena.

Max Purcell was serving to stay in the match, 5-3 down in the second set, when he was distracted by the fan.

Chair umpire Damien Dumusois said: "Ladies and gentlemen, I think everybody is enjoying the match so please, one or two spectators are totally ruining the game by screaming just as the players are serving.

"Once again, stop."

The yob, picked out by the TV cameras, appeared to apologise as he sat alongside two pals.

Kyrgios, though, instructed officials to 'get him out' as the crowd booed the offender.

Bouncers spoke with the young man but Kyrgios shouted: "Just take him."

The spectator eventually stood up and made his way out, flanked by his friends, as the rest of the crowd cheered his exit.

Kyrgios and best-mate Thanasi Kokkinakis, dubbed the Specials Ks, teamed up for the doubles at their home major - nine years after winning junior Wimbledon together.

And they stunned the No1, No3, No6 and No15 seeds on their way to reaching the final against fellow Aussie pair Purcell and Matt Ebden.

Kyrgios, who wowed the crowds with his underarm tweener serve in the singles last week, served out for victory to secure the 7-5 6-4 win and the pair's first major.

Kokkinakis sealed the win with a kiss for his boyhood mate, topping off a superb January.

The 25-year-old's budding career has been halted by injuries and illnesses for more than five years but he lifted his first singles title in hometown Adelaide before the Australian Open glory.

Kokkinakis said: "Nick, I love you brother.

"I can honestly say we did not expect to even come close to this but the coverage we've got, the support for us, we couldn't ask for anything more.

"The big man told me he's got an early flight so I'm going to need him to go with no sleep tonight."

Kyrgios, who also got a smooch from his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi, added: "I am super happy, I don’t know how we are doing this.

"It's been a rough couple of years. I had Covid a week out from the Australian Open and my team and my beautiful girlfriend looked after me.

"I know this big boy is going to be out tonight so ladies, let’s go. I have to stop now, I have crossed the line.”
