MANCHESTER UNITED fans have launched an angry broadside at Edinson Cavani after the striker requested extra TIME OFF.
The 34-year-old asked for an extended break after playing for Uruguay in their recent World Cup qualifiers.
And United boss Ralf Rangnick confirmed the forward would be rested for tonight’s FA Cup fourth round clash against Middlesbrough.
Fans accused Cavani of taking the club for a ride after reports last year he had asked to start certain matches on the bench over fitness issues.
User AniUTD wrote on Twitter: “Cavani asking for more time off lool this guys acc working part time. More leave requests than shampoos bought.”
Firelig0 wrote: “Cavani asking for time off again… this guy is NOT serious.”
And Harlzyyv added: “I’m creasing Cavani asked for extra time off AGAIN, how does he keep getting away with this when he’s our own player who does it.”
Cavani started Uruguay’s World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay on 27th January and Venezuela last Tuesday.

United return to action against Middlesbrough after most of the squad enjoyed some downtime due to the Premier League’s winter break.
Rangnick indicated Cavani would have been unlikely to start at Old Trafford due to jet lag after returning from South America.
He said: "Edi Cavani will only return at the weekend, he contacted me at the weekend and asked to have two more days at home. I knew he couldn't be in the starting XI with jet lag anyway."
Rangnick also suggested midfielder Jesse Lingard had asked for time off after being denied a deadline day move to Newcastle United.
The 29-year-old angrily denied the claims, instead saying the club advised him to take a break to clear his head after seeing the move fall through.
