Alan Shearer has a cheeky dig at Ian Wright after beating his fellow Match of the day pundit on the driving range

ALAN SHEARER has shown that banter continues long after footballers hang up their boots as he pokes fun at fellow Match of the day pundit Ian Wright

The two former strikers have recently gone to Callaway Golf fitting centre where they have attempted to smash the ball the furthest amongst other ex-footballers and celebrities on the driving range.

Shearer took great pleasure in driving his ball 293 yards where as Wright hit his 277 leaving the smug Shearer unable to contain his joy as he uploaded a pic of his name above Wright’s on the table.

The ex-Newcastle hit man is a keen player of golf in his spare time and will be over the moon to get one over on Wright also a budding golfer when not committed to punditry work.

Shearer is winding up the ex-Arsenal and Crystal Palace striker by claiming he needs to ‘get on the weights’ and with the pair being the most competitive strikers this country has produced it will be interesting if Wright will fire something back.

Where as Shearer has recently unveiled his statue outside of St James’s Park as his status at Newcastle United is truly considered as legendary.
