After agreeing a new one-year deal, Cavani has struggled with injuries this term and looks set to depart when his contract expires in June.

Barcelona have been linked with a swoop for the ex-Paris Saint-Germain star.

Now claims that Inter have joined the chase for the South American.

They acknowledge that the veteran has plenty of interest from elsewhere in LaLiga too.

But Inter are looking to bring in both an experienced forward as well as a younger talent to bolster their attack.

They want a physical presence in a similar style to Edin Dzeko - but are looking to do a deal without a transfer fee involved.

Sanchez is believed to be on his way out of the San Siro.

Sanchez cost United a staggering £60m in wages in total following his nightmare switch from Arsenal in 2018.

Inter have also been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid’s Luis Suarez but this latest report states Cavani is a serious target.

And that Napoli’s Dries Mertens is also on their wishlist.
