TWO-TIME Olympic champion Sebastian Coe has joined forces with Sir Martin Broughton’s consortium to buy Chelsea.
The former Olympian turned Tory lord is estimated to be worth tens of millions and as part of Simon Broughton’s consortium he will be the face of the bid.
Seb Coe has always been involved in sport with the 65-year-old now interested in taking over the Blues from Roman Abramovich.
Who is Sebastian Coe?
Lord Sebastian Coe started his career as a professional athlete, going on to become one of Britan’s greatest ever runners.
Coe has four Olympic medals, winning gold in the 1500 metres at the 1980 and 1984 Olympic games.

He broke the 1500m world record in Zurich, Switzerland, running 3min 32.1sec in 1979.
It was broken a year later by Brighton man Steve Ovett, which sparked one of the most iconic British sporting rivalries.
He held the world record in the 800m as well, running 1:42.4 in 1979 before improving it to 1:41.73 two years later.
Following his career Coe branched into politics after being elected a member of parliament for Falmouth and Cambourne in 1992 for the Conservative party.
He lost his seat in the 1997 general election, but returned as William Hague’s chief of staff in May 2000.
When it was announced London would bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games, Coe initially became an ambassador and a member of the board, before later becoming chairman for the latter phases of the bid.
Following his time on the Olympic committee, Coe was appointed the first chairman of Fifa’s independent watchdog, this was part of the committee that judged alleged conflicts of interest and breach of Fifa rules.
In 2015, Coe was elected head of the IAAF, which was later re-branded World Athletics, a position he still holds.
