ROO'S RASH WORDS

Wayne Rooney tells Marcus Rashford to ‘f***ing gets his head out of his a***’ and break his Man Utd goalscoring record

WAYNE ROONEY has offered some old school advice to Marcus Rashford as he urged the out-of-form star to break his Manchester United record.

The Derby County boss, 36, spent 13 years playing for the Red Devils and won everything with the club until his departure in 2017.

Rooney made a whopping 559 appearances and overtook Sir Bobby Charlton’s tally to become United’s all-time top scorer with 253 goals.

Now he has backed his 24-year-old pal Rashford to “f***ing get his head out of his a**e” so that he will go on and surpass him.

The United ace burst onto the scene in 2016 towards the end of Rooney’s stay at Old Trafford and had the world at his feet.

However, this term the England international’s form and confidence appear to have dropped dramatically.

He has hit a barren run of form and slipped way down the pecking order - with just five goals in 26 appearances across all competitions and two completed 90 minutes.

The England international was dropped by Gareth Southgate for the current Three Lions camp and he also had to deny swearing at a fan amid a confrontation with hecklers after United's Champions League exit.

That has led to speculation that he could leave with Arsenal being the latest side linked with making a move.

But Rooney made it clear while appearing on stage at an exclusive £300 a ticket black-tie dinner event in Manchester on Saturday night that he is keeping a close eye on his old teammate.

Discussing Rashford, who has 93 goals for the club, Rooney said: “To get the record and be Manchester United’s highest goal scorer, it is f***ing massive.

“But I hope the record is broken.

“What I hope is that Marcus Rashford f***ing gets his head out of his a**e and goes and breaks that record. He’s a Manchester lad.”

Rashford was not the only thing on Rooney’s mind as he recalled playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and how Carlos Tevez proved to be a disappointment.

Rio Ferdinand, who played alongside Wazza at Old Trafford, also copped some of his lip.

Rooney also revealed the ONLY reason he got into management is to take over at Man Utd after snubbing an interview with Everton in January.
